The Northwestern Palliative Medicine Fellowship Training Program, in existence since 1998, is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education as being in compliance with the voluntary Program Standards for Residency Education in Palliative Medicine. In 2007, Palliative Medicine was recognized as a subspecialty by the American Board of Medical Subspecialties (ABMS).
Training in palliative medicine only can be tailored for trainees who wish either a one- or two-year experience. For a description, please click here. For an application, please click here.
Applications are being accepted for the year beginning July 1, 2010. The deadline is December 31, 2009. Please include with your application (or send under separate cover):
(1) Curriculum vitae (including a list of publications) (2) Personal statement (3) Official medical school transcript (4) Official Dean's Letter (5) Letters of recommendation from three faculty members familiar with your current experience, one of whom must be your residency program director (6) Photocopy of original examination results with dates (7) Photocopy of ECFMG certificate, if applicable (8) Photocopy of visa/citizenship papers, if applicable
Interviews are conducted by appointment only as completed applications are received. Select applicants will be contacted by the Program Director to arrange an interview.
