DOM Proposal Submission Requirements

Please allow a minimum of 24 hours for DOM review. During major deadlines, there may be delays, so please allow extra time. Proposals should be submitted to DOM well in advance of OSR internal deadlines so that DOM may provide an accurate and thorough review. Thank you!

For Grants.gov (NIH, DOD, etc.) proposals

NIH F, K, P, T & U series are exceptions – see below

The following items are required for DOM review and sign off:

OSR-1 and OSR-100 forms signed by the Principal Investigator, all DOM Co-Investigators and all relevant DOM Division Chiefs
Excel spreadsheet showing detailed budget calculations for all years of the proposal. The budget spreadsheet should show base salaries and annual inflation factors, percent efforts, which items are excluded from the F&A base, the F&A base total, F&A calculations, etc.
For modular NIH budgets, please also include a copy of the OSR Modular Budget Tabulator

DOM will use this link to download a copy of the SF424 package – please have the administrative shell of the proposal uploaded when you submit the proposal for review. The administrative shell should contain at a minimum the completed SF424 form, the budget forms, and budget justification attachment. Including a copy of the abstract is highly encouraged.
If the proposal is not Investigator-Initiated, please email DOM a link to the specific
Program Announcement (PA)
If any cost sharing is included in the budget, please complete and submit the DOM Cost Share Approval Form.

For Foundation, Industry, etc., proposals

Also includes NIH F, K, P, T & U series

The following items are required for DOM review and sign off:

AHA proposals additionally require signed OSR-100 forms for the PI and all Co-Investigators
Excel spreadsheet showing detailed budget calculations for all years of the proposal. The budget spreadsheet should show base salaries and annual inflation factors, percent efforts, which items are excluded from the F&A base, the F&A base total, F&A calculations, etc.
Copy of the RFA and/or grant policies and instructions or Program Announcement (PA) for NIH proposals – alternately, you may email a link to this information
Completed form pages which should contain at a minimum the completed cover pages, the budget forms, and budget justification. Including a copy of the abstract is highly encouraged.
Some of these items will vary between funding agencies – please contact DOM to discuss unusual proposal types.

For Proposals from other Departments or Schools within NU

Proposals may be dropped off in Galter 3-150 for review and DOM sign off. Please be certain to include the following items:
