Useful Resident Resources:

Medicare Policy for NMFF Patients:

This is to clarify the most recent NMFF General Internal Medicine policy for Medicaid patients:
1. We will continue to see any Medicaid patient who has previously been a patient in our practice.
2. We are not accepting new Medicaid patients EXCEPT…
3. If a Medicaid patient has been hospitalized at NMH and will follow up with the same resident physician who cared for the patient in the hospital, we will see this patient in GIM. When hospital follow up appointment is made in GIM (695-8630),  let the schedulers know that this patient should be scheduled same resident who provided care in the hospital and they will schedule the appointment (and override the usual policy of no new Medicaid patients).

All other Medicaid patients should be instructed to follow up with the primary care physician whom Illinois has assigned. The social workers in the hospital can determine who their assigned PCP is. We no longer provide the "one follow up visit" for any Medicaid patients because this was confusing and disruptive to the patients.
